Thank you all for the support.
I have decided to get a rescue kitten, but apparently there aren't likely to be any until next month.
I really miss him, he was such a character.

Great idea, Jan. After our beloved puss died, we took on two from a rescue centre....then a "friend" gave me two kittens for my birthday!!..... then a poor, badly hurt and abused creature turned up on our doorstep and, well, you can't turn them away can you?........then a neighbour moved and left the cat behind and yes, you're right, we took her in too!! We then had 6....now sadly down to 2 but we are thinking of a dog soon......mad or what?
